“Hate disguised as virtue” sadly describes much of what passes for progressivism these days.

It is a sad state that we are in right now. Like a lot of rotten situations, the only way out is through. Don’t mind the muck.

I think this type of education just makes the idea of “whiteness” and “blackness” even stickier. Which is not great, since these are fake concepts that were made up less than 500 years ago purely to justify slavery. We need to get AWAY from that mess.

I couldn't agree more. And it must be so confusing for kids who have a multi-racial background. This book will not age well.

It’s wildly reckless in another way as well. One possible effect is that children given this material grow up to hate themselves and snivel and grovel and apologize for their inherent evil. But another possible reaction — one certainly more common among young men — is that they say “screw you, then; I’ll be the villain and enjoy it.” Books like this could engender the sort of white supremacy ideology that they falsely claim still exists.

🎯 You are absolutely right that boys and girls who grow into men and women will take this in differently. I think we are seeing the predictable fruits of that.

“with no way out but to internalize your culpability” But there IS a way out. Identifying as an oppressed transgender person is a get-out-of-jail-free card for the shame that’s being imposed on them.

Your point is tragically funny. Nevertheless, I see that as more of a lateral move, since you have to mutilate yourself to get the 'benefits'. You might look different, but psychologically that's a different corner in the same oubliette.

Nah, just adopt a new name and pronouns and a new wardrobe and *poof*, you’re a disadvantaged minority who is sacred and excused from all criticism and shame!

I really believe this is a major contributing factor to the rise of this movement, especially among teenage girls.
